WardrobeIt may not be able to locate anonymous Virtual Try-On information when no account, email address, persistent identifier, or recoverable session reference is connected with the interaction.
Delete Shopper Information Connected with a Merchant
When you use WardrobeIt through an ecommerce merchant’s store, the merchant generally determines why and how shopper information is processed.
WardrobeIt may process that information on the merchant’s behalf.
In these circumstances, WardrobeIt may:
- Confirm receipt of your request
- Ask which merchant store was involved
- Forward the request to the merchant
- Direct you to the merchant’s privacy contact
- Assist the merchant with locating and deleting eligible information
- Delete information according to the merchant’s lawful instructions
The merchant may need to process your request because it may separately hold:
- Customer-account information
- Order records
- Shipping information
- Payment records
- Checkout information
- Returns or refunds
- Marketing preferences
- Customer-support history
- Loyalty information
- Other store information outside WardrobeIt
A request submitted to WardrobeIt does not automatically delete information independently controlled by the merchant, ecommerce platform, payment provider, delivery provider, or another third party.
Delete Cookie or Device Information
You may delete cookies and local-storage information through your browser or device settings.
You may also use the Cookie Settings option on the WardrobeIt website where available to:
- Reject non-essential cookies
- Withdraw optional consent
- Change analytics preferences
- Change functional-cookie preferences
- Review cookie categories
Deleting cookies may remove stored preferences, active sessions, or information needed to help locate a previous anonymous interaction.
What Happens After You Submit a Request?
We Acknowledge the Request
WardrobeIt will review the information you provide and may confirm that your request has been received.
We Verify the Request
WardrobeIt may take reasonable steps to verify:
- Your identity
- Your authority to make the request
- The email address associated with the information
- The merchant store involved
- Whether WardrobeIt controls the information
- Whether WardrobeIt processes it on behalf of a merchant
- The scope of the requested deletion
We will request only the information reasonably necessary to verify and complete the request.
Information collected for verification will be used for that purpose and related legal or security obligations.
We Locate the Relevant Information
Depending on your interaction, WardrobeIt may review:
- Merchant-account systems
- Website communications
- Support records
- Shopping-assistant data
- Virtual Try-On records
- Technical logs
- Store integration records
- Analytics systems
- Relevant subprocessors
- Other systems reasonably connected with the request
We Determine Whether Deletion Applies
WardrobeIt will determine:
- Which information can be deleted
- Which information must be referred to a merchant
- Whether an applicable exception permits or requires retention
- Whether additional information is needed
- Whether deletion would affect an active account or service
- Whether the information has already been deleted or de-identified
We Complete the Eligible Action
Depending on the request, WardrobeIt may:
- Delete eligible information
- De-identify information
- Restrict further use
- Remove an account
- Delete a Virtual Try-On image or result
- notify an applicable merchant
- Instruct relevant service providers to delete eligible information
- Retain limited information where legally permitted or required
We Send a Response
WardrobeIt will explain the outcome of the request, subject to legal, privacy, and security limitations.
The response may confirm:
- That eligible information was deleted
- That the request was forwarded to a merchant
- That additional verification is required
- That certain information must be retained
- That WardrobeIt could not reasonably locate the information
- That the request was denied in whole or in part
- How to submit an appeal or complaint where applicable
Identity Verification
WardrobeIt must take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized people from deleting someone else’s information.
Verification may involve:
- Confirming access to the associated email address
- Confirming relevant account information
- Confirming the merchant store involved
- Confirming details of the relevant interaction
- Signing into the applicable account
- Providing another proportionate form of verification
The level of verification may depend on:
- The sensitivity of the information
- The type of account
- The scope of the request
- The risk of unauthorized deletion
- Whether the request is submitted by an authorized representative
WardrobeIt will not request more verification information than reasonably necessary.
If we cannot reasonably verify your identity or authority, we may be unable to complete the request.
Authorized Representatives
You may use an authorized representative to submit a data deletion request where applicable law permits it.
WardrobeIt may require:
- Evidence that you authorized the representative
- Direct confirmation from you
- Verification of your identity
- Verification of the representative’s identity
- Evidence of legal authority, such as an applicable power of attorney
An authorized representative must not submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or unauthorized requests.
Information That May Be Deleted
Subject to verification, applicable law, and the circumstances of the request, eligible information may include:
- Account-profile information
- Contact information
- Marketing preferences
- Demo-request information
- Support communications
- Shopper conversations
- Product preferences
- Product questions
- Recommendation history
- Virtual Try-On images
- Generated Virtual Try-On previews
- Saved shopper-session information
- Certain analytics identifiers
- Certain technical information
- Other information that is no longer required for a lawful purpose
Deletion availability depends on how the information was collected, where it is stored, whether WardrobeIt can identify it, and whether a retention exception applies.
Information We May Need to Retain
A deletion request does not always require deletion of every record.
WardrobeIt may retain limited personal information where reasonably necessary and legally permitted, including to:
- Complete a transaction requested by the individual
- Provide a requested service
- Maintain account or service security
- Detect or prevent fraud
- Investigate abuse
- Debug and repair technical errors
- Maintain financial, tax, and accounting records
- Comply with legal or regulatory obligations
- Respond to lawful government requests
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
- Enforce agreements
- Resolve disputes
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of WardrobeIt, merchants, shoppers, and others
- Maintain evidence that a privacy request was received and completed
- Respect another person’s rights
- Perform another activity permitted by applicable law
Where information is retained under an exception, WardrobeIt will limit its use to the applicable purpose where required.
Orders, Payments, and Transaction Records
Deleting a WardrobeIt shopping-assistant interaction does not necessarily delete the merchant’s order or transaction records.
Merchants, payment providers, ecommerce platforms, and other parties may need to retain records concerning:
- Purchases
- Payment status
- Shipping
- Taxes
- Invoices
- Refunds
- Returns
- Chargebacks
- Fraud prevention
- Product warranties
- Consumer disputes
- Legal compliance
Contact the relevant merchant directly if you want to request deletion of information held in its independent systems.
Backups and Archived Systems
Eligible information may remain temporarily in protected backups or archived systems after it has been removed from active systems.
Where this occurs, the information may be:
- Isolated from ordinary use
- Protected by security controls
- Retained only until the normal backup cycle expires
- Restored only for disaster recovery, security, or legal purposes
- Deleted or overwritten according to the applicable retention schedule
WardrobeIt may not restore a protected backup solely to delete an individual record where the information is not used in active systems and will be removed through the normal backup lifecycle.
If backup information is restored, WardrobeIt will take reasonable steps to ensure that the completed deletion request remains appropriately respected.
Service Providers and Subprocessors
WardrobeIt may use service providers or subprocessors for functions such as:
- Cloud hosting
- Database services
- Artificial-intelligence processing
- Image processing
- Virtual Try-On generation
- Analytics
- Error monitoring
- Communications
- Customer support
- Billing
- Security
- Ecommerce integrations
Where appropriate, WardrobeIt may communicate a verified deletion request to service providers that process the relevant personal information on our behalf.
Deletion may remain subject to:
- Technical limitations
- Legal retention requirements
- Backup cycles
- Security needs
- The service provider’s role
- The merchant’s lawful instructions
De-Identified and Aggregated Information
WardrobeIt may retain information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably identify or be linked to you.
De-identified or aggregated information may be used for purposes such as:
- Service analytics
- Reliability monitoring
- Security
- Product planning
- Statistical reporting
- Performance analysis
- Service improvement
WardrobeIt will not attempt to reidentify de-identified information except where legally permitted for testing whether the de-identification process remains effective.
Anonymous Interactions
Some WardrobeIt experiences may be used without creating an account or providing an email address.
If an interaction is anonymous and no recoverable identifier connects it with you, WardrobeIt may be unable to:
- Confirm that the information belongs to you
- Locate the relevant record
- Distinguish your information from another anonymous session
- Verify that you are authorized to request deletion
Provide any available non-sensitive information that may help locate the interaction, such as:
- Merchant store
- Approximate date and time
- Product involved
- Device or browser
- Session reference
- Feature used
Do not attempt to obtain or send technical identifiers belonging to another person.
Effect of Account Deletion
Deleting a WardrobeIt account may permanently remove or restrict access to:
- Account settings
- Store configurations
- Merchant knowledge
- Catalog information stored in WardrobeIt
- Team-member access
- Assistant configuration
- Saved reports
- Analytics history
- Usage history
- Saved Virtual Try-On information
- Support history
- Other account-level information
Some deletion actions may be irreversible.
Before requesting deletion, merchants should export any information they are legally entitled and technically able to retain.
WardrobeIt may not be able to restore an account after the deletion process has been completed.
Active Merchant Subscriptions
Submitting a data deletion request does not automatically:
- Cancel a WardrobeIt subscription
- Terminate a merchant agreement
- Remove an unpaid balance
- Issue a refund
- Cancel a pending invoice
- End an applicable contractual commitment
Merchant customers must follow the applicable account, billing, or contractual cancellation process.
Where account deletion makes continued service impossible, WardrobeIt may contact the merchant to coordinate account closure and contractual requirements.
Withdrawal of a Request
You may ask to withdraw your deletion request before WardrobeIt completes it.
Send the withdrawal request to:
hi@wardrobeit.com
Use the subject line:
Withdraw Data Deletion Request
WardrobeIt may be unable to reverse deletion after information has already been permanently removed.
Requests That Are Unclear or Excessive
WardrobeIt may ask you to clarify a request that is:
- Too broad
- Incomplete
- Unclear
- Missing the merchant store
- Missing information needed to locate the data
- Submitted from an unrelated email address
- Submitted by an unverified representative
Where permitted by law, WardrobeIt may deny or limit requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, repetitive, fraudulent, abusive, or intended to interfere with the rights of another person.
WardrobeIt will explain the basis for a denial where legally required and appropriate.
No Discrimination
WardrobeIt will not unlawfully discriminate against you because you submitted a valid privacy request.
Exercising a privacy right will not result in unlawful:
- Denial of service
- Different pricing
- Reduced service quality
- Retaliation
- Unfair treatment
Deleting information may, however, make a feature unavailable when that information is necessary to provide the feature.
For example, deleting account information may prevent continued account access, and deleting saved Virtual Try-On information will remove access to the applicable saved results.
Children’s Data Deletion Requests
WardrobeIt is not designed or directed toward children under 13 or any higher minimum age required by applicable law.
A parent or legal guardian may contact WardrobeIt to request deletion of information believed to have been submitted by a child without proper authorization.
Contact:
hi@wardrobeit.com
Include:
- The child’s approximate age
- The merchant store involved
- The WardrobeIt feature used
- The approximate date
- Your relationship to the child
- Enough information to locate the data
Do not submit additional sensitive information about the child unless WardrobeIt specifically requests it through an appropriate method.
WardrobeIt may require reasonable verification of parental or legal authority.
Response Time
WardrobeIt will respond within the period required by the privacy law applicable to the verified request.
The response period may begin after WardrobeIt receives information reasonably necessary to verify the requester and understand the scope of the request.
Where legally permitted, additional time may be required when a request is complex, involves multiple systems, depends on a merchant, or includes a large volume of information.
If additional time is required, WardrobeIt will provide notice where applicable.
Appeals and Complaints
Where applicable law provides an appeal right, you may appeal WardrobeIt’s decision by emailing:
hi@wardrobeit.com
Use the subject line:
Privacy Request Appeal
Include:
- Your original request date
- The email address used
- The decision you are appealing
- Why you believe the decision should be reconsidered
- Any relevant supporting information
You may also have the right to contact an applicable privacy, data-protection, or consumer-protection authority.
Security of Deletion Requests
WardrobeIt uses reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to protect deletion requests and related verification information.
No email or online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Do not send passwords, full payment details, authentication codes, store credentials, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
If WardrobeIt requires additional verification, we may provide instructions for an appropriate verification method.
